When you’re judged by a brothers feeble mind
He’ll take you to a place you will never find.
He thinks he knows what a womans about.
His gifts are wrapped with ribbons of doubt.
He says ‘you’re gettin’ there, sister, you’re gettin’
there. Don’t despair, you’re gettin there.’
He opens you up, expressing his toys of care.
Oh God help you! If he finds something rare.
He’ll swallow your dreams expect a sacrifice of soul.
Don’t cry baby, don’t scream, don’t question his control.
He says ‘you’re gettin’ there, sister, you’re gettin’
there. Don’t despair you’re gettin’ there.’
Why do you trust him with this precious stone?
Your very heart, God claimed as his own.
Past flaws carved by many hands that trembled.
Inspected by a crowd of friends he assembled.
He says ‘you’re gettin’ there, sister, you’re gettin’
there. Don’t despair you’re gettin’ there.’
When he sees you broken, thats the key.
It opens up a cage he made for free.
‘You deserve a medal, you passed the test.’
But he’ll compare you to all the rest.
He says ‘you’re gettin’ there, sister, you’re gettin’
there. Don’t despair you’re gettin’ there.’
He encouraged your lover with tainted perception.
Told you you’re the reason for the deception.
You’re not soft and inviting like whats her name.
So you lost, its time to bare the shame.
He says ‘you’re gettin’ there, sister, you’re gettin’
there. Don’t despair, you’re gettin’ there.’
He said ‘Jesus hung on a cross for all to see.
Now its time for you to prove yourself to me.’
When you can’t,`Selfish’ will be your new name.
He’ll call you a monster he couldn’t tame.
‘You’re gettin’ there, sister, you’re gettin’
there. Don’t despair, you’re gettin’ there.’
Im not lost, Im found by Jesus and not alone.
I Ask God to hold my heart, A precious stone.
He’s the only brother who understands.
My flaws are beauty in his hands.
Jesus says ‘You are there, my sister, you are there.
Don’t despair, you are there.’
